How Capgemini and sRide are Scaling Sustainable Mobility

For large-scale organizations, the daily commute is more than a logistical hurdle: it is a significant contributor to a company’s carbon footprint and a primary source of employee stress. Rising fuel costs and urban congestion in hubs like Hinjewadi demand a solution that is both scalable and sustainable.

The #WeKareToShare Initiative

The collaboration between sRide and Capgemini, resulted in an offline activation at major campuses in Pune and Mumbai, designed to solve the “awareness gap.” Here’s what our focus was for these activations:

The Security of a Verified Network: At the heart of the “Make It Real” vision is a commitment to safety. By facilitating live app walkthroughs and on-the-spot registrations, we transitioned hundreds of colleagues into a secure, peer-to-peer ecosystem. In a corporate environment, knowing that your co-rider is a verified colleague is the essential prerequisite for sustainable adoption.

Engaging for Impact: Our presence in the cafeterias, featuring interactive ‘Spin the Wheel’ and a photobooth with signs like ‘Found my carool buddy’ helped employees understans the concept of sRide and how they could opt for a tangible, affordable, and planet-saving option, making the shift from solo driving to carpooling happen organically.

Economic and Personal Resilience: Professionals across various levels reported the potential to reduce monthly commute costs by up to 50%. This creates a virtuous cycle where personal savings and environmental gains reinforce one another, requiring no additional infrastructure from the organization.

A Commitment to Environmental Excellence

The #WeKareToShare campaign serves as a practical extension of Capgemini’s broader sustainability goals. By optimizing vehicle occupancy, the initiative directly addresses:

  • Indirect Emission Management: Systematically reducing the carbon intensity associated with daily employee travel.
  • Campus Optimization: Easing the logistical pressure on site entry points and parking facilities, allowing for smoother operations.
  • Cultural Alignment: Mirroring the environmental standards of world-class facilities, such as the LEED Platinum Airoli campus, by promoting “eco-friendly” travel as a standard professional practice.

The collaboration between sRide and Capgemini proves that when trust is designed into the mobility experience, the results are immediate and measurable.
