How Tech Mahindra employees turned carpooling into a daily sustainability movement in Hyderabad with sRide.
Sustainability is strongest when it becomes a shared habit.
At Tech Mahindra’s Hitech City campus in Hyderabad, carpooling has grown into a community-led movement—driven by sRide Heroes who chose shared travel as part of their everyday commute.
On 20th November 2025, Tech Mahindra, in collaboration with sRide, celebrated this collective effort by honoring associates who consistently chose carpooling to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and build stronger commuter connections.
The Story
Daily commuting in a fast-growing city like Hyderabad often means crowded roads and long travel hours. Instead of navigating this alone, Tech Mahindra employees used sRide to connect with co-riders on similar routes—transforming routine travel into shared, more engaging journeys.
This initiative was powered by felicitating six standout sRide Heroes and encouraging thousands more:
- Rajnish Srivastava – 524 sRide rides
- Raman V – 596 sRide rides
- Yochana Reddy – 663 sRide rides
- Nagaraja Sarma – 1,664 sRide rides
- Girish E – 1,749 sRide rides
- Mukesh Sharma – 1,753 sRide rides
Together, these shared commutes represent thousands of journeys made more sustainable through carpooling.
Impact & Data
The impact of this carpooling movement is visible across Hyderabad’s IT corridors:
- Reduced peak-hour traffic congestion
- Lower air pollution from fewer single-occupancy vehicles
- Reduced demand for parking spaces
- Stronger social connections among colleagues
These efforts were formally recognized when Hari Chandana Dasari, IAS, District Collector of Hyderabad, presented achievement certificates—honoring the role of community-driven carpooling in building a sustainable commute culture.
