• sRide Carpool App is proud to be part of a feature in the Environment Sustainability Report 2017/2018 of the Capgemini Group for playing a vital part in reducing the business travel emissions of Capgemini employees in India.

• The Environment Sustainability Report is an annual publication by the Capgemini group that furnishes records of the environmental performance and outlines evolved methodologies for reducing the carbon footprint of each employee and the group as a whole.

• Over 37,000 employees of Capgemini have signed up for the sRide carpooling program, sharing a total distance of 4 million KM with co-workers and saving an estimated 800 TONS of CO2.

Latest in our string of achievements and recognitions, the sRide carpool app has featured in the Capgemini Group Environmental Sustainability Report 2017/2018. The report recognizes the contribution of the sRide Carpool App among a list of other initiatives that helped bring down emissions per employee since 2015 by 15%.
In 2017, sRide and Capgemini partnered to promote app-based ridesharing across key office locations of Capgemini India. Team members at Capgemini showed immediate enthusiasm for ridesharing with sRide, with over 10,000 employees signing up for sRide within the first few weeks of the partnership. The present count of Capgemini employees registered with the sRide carpool app is estimated to be over 37,000.
Carpooling with sRide helps Capgemini employees save money irrespective of whether they are providing a ride or seeking one. At a ballpark rate of Rs3/km, sRide is cheaper than existing taxi apps. In addition, it provides employees with the unique option to cut fuel costs and save money while travelling to and from office locations. Capgemini Employees also have the option to donate the proceeds they earn through the app to WeKare community charity.
This summarily makes Capgemini the largest user of the sRide carpool app in the technology sector. sRide CEO Lakshna Jha congratulated both Capgemini and her associates at sRide:
“This is a very proud moment that reflects upon the core philosophy of the sRide carpool app – cutting both costs and carbon emissions during corporate and leisure travel. My whole team is thankful to Capgemini for displaying unfailing commitment toward the environment and actually walking the talk on sustainability-driven environmental solutions starting with their own offices and employees. We also appreciate the tremendous work that Capgemini is doing to help their clients cut carbon emissions.”
While it’s indeed a remarkable achievement for sRide to help a company as large as Capgemini positively change their numbers on carbon emissions, we are still a long way from realizing our dream of positive corporate carbon footprint across the technology and healthcare sectors in India. Nothing’s as reassuring as a bright start and the sRide team is raring to cut the gas across companies and cities.
