I am from Surat, Gujarat. Commuting to office 7 km away would hardly take about 10 minutes give or take.  I accepted an offer at a firm which was situated in Mumbai. Honestly, I was not aware of the crazy commute time that each Mumbaikar goes through. Coming from Surat where everything is nearby, I think it’s easy to say I got exposed to busy and fast paced life of Mumbaikars very soon.  My daily commute to office in Mumbai was 30KM which is a big battle I must share.

Allow me to tell you my story on how sRide became a platform for my daily commute.

After moving to Mumbai, I choose Borivalli to stay as it was nearer to my family and being new to an unknown city, it was a big support. However a fact I left unchecked was, I did not realize how long my commute to office is going to be. All I had in my mind was my company provides bus services and it would be easier commute. But the commute time was nearly 2 or more hours both ways. Since these buses are not that agile in traffic, surviving heavy traffic became nightmare. Everyone inside the bus would be either exhausted or would be asleep, not to forget the high temperatures of Mumbai.

I started desperately looking for alternative options when my work colleagues suggested sRide and it’s the best decision I have made in a long time.

The registration process was simple and gave me the impression that the entire platform would actually have genuine and trustable users.

The first ride was epic and the commuting time became so short that I was able t reach office to home, in less than an hour. I was already in love with sRide.

All those strangers (let’s say sRider’s) during my sRide (don’t feel like saying carpool) never felt like strangers we used to touch various topics regarding our job profiles believe me we even discussed “how many email does an HR get in a day?” One of the sRiders I met worked in HR department and an HR normally gets around 150ish emails in a day that was the reply. Wow!

We also had countless debates, and discussion on topics like politics, various cuisines, culture, movies, effective advertisements (funny radio jingles) even Game of thrones was thrown into our discussions.

Within weeks of starting sRide, I started to know people within my firm’s campus. My Social network grew immensly. My social bubble popped as I met various knowledgeable experienced people from various work profiles.

In all joining sRide platform has been amazing for me. I now totally rely on it daily for my work commute without it I would never would have been able to travel 30kms daily to and fro, from Borivalli to Airoli, with so much ease. I only have one suggestion for anyone reading this blog:  If you are looking for a fun and convenient way to commute – try sRide. Carpooling indeed has more advantages than just being easy commute or cost saving

Happy sRiding !!!
