Carpooling Conversations at Capgemini: Our Talwade Pop-Up Recap
Last week, sRide set up a pop-up activation desk at Capgemini’s Talwade office in Pune — and the response from employees was something we won’t forget anytime soon.
How It Happened
Capgemini reached out to their entire workforce through their internal CAReToShare initiative — a programme built around encouraging employees to share resources, reduce their carbon footprint, and build community. sRide was the natural fit: the same values, just applied to the daily commute.
The invite went out, and employees showed up. Between 11 AM and 4 PM at Cafeteria 2, we had over 100+ employees stop by our desk for a conversation, a live app walkthrough, or just to ask “how does this actually work?”
Why Talwade?
Talwade sits on the periphery of Pune — well connected to the tech corridor, but far enough from the city centre that commuting is a genuine daily challenge. There’s no quick metro fix, no reliable bus route that fits a 9-to-6 schedule. For many employees here, the commute isn’t a minor inconvenience — it’s a daily grind.
That’s exactly what made this activation resonate so deeply. When employees engaged with sRide’s live demo, it wasn’t abstract — they could picture their own route, their own pick-up point, their own neighbours going to the same office. The problem hit close to home.
What We Heard
Employees weren’t just curious — they were engaged. They played the in-booth games, worked through the app walkthrough with our team, and asked sharp questions about safety, scheduling, and how matching works. The feedback was genuinely positive, and more than a few people signed up on the spot.
“I’ve been looking for something like this for years. Talwade is so far from everything — having a trusted carpool option changes things.”
— Capgemini employee, Talwade
The Bigger Picture
This activation was strong validation for something we’ve believed for a while: peripheral office locations are exactly where carpooling matters most. Central Pune has options. Talwade, Hinjewadi Phase 3, Chakan, Ranjangaon — these are the places where people feel the commute pressure acutely, and where a well-matched carpool has the most impact on someone’s day.
More pop-ups are coming. If you’re an HR or facilities team at a corporate office with a commute problem, we’d love to connect.
sRide is a carpooling app built for India’s daily commuter. Available on Android and iOS.
