Our CTO giving back to the Redis community at Bangalore 2020

Our CTO Amit Agarwal Being a part of the first Redis Day Bangalore 2020 – building connections, sharing great learnings, deep insights and challenges.

To tell you more about Redis and how it helps sRide. It is an open-source, in-memory Data Structure. Redis data structures resolve very complex programming problems with simple commands executed within the data store, reducing coding effort, increasing throughput, and reducing latency.

sRide extensively uses Redis to keep the platform more smoother and effectively manage the day to day activities. With 20 Lakh+ users, sRide has covered 180 Mn+ Km of carpooling thus reducing 36,000+ TONS of CO2 till date. sRide Carpool is a peer to peer carpooling app that helps to provide a mobile platform to connect to do carpooling on a daily basis for HOME- OFFICE-HOME trip and help reduce traffic/pollution.

Our CTO also went on sharing how the carpool and bike pool platform uses Redis to reduce response time, authenticate APIs, and scale WebSocket server.

Overall It was a great learning session for newbies and professionals who are willing to make their significant mark in this industry.

The unselfish effort of Sharing knowledge & learnings to others will always be continued as we at sRide have always believed in the culture of giving back to the community & will keep doing so till eternity.
